DMLY provides role-based access control to help you manage who can access specific features within your account and workspaces. Each role defines the level of control a user has, while Granular Access options allow you to apply additional restrictions when needed.
Access RolesThe Owner has full control over the entire DMLY account.
Permissions include:
Full access to the account and all workspaces
Manage billing, subscriptions, team members, and settings
Access all features and configurations
Typically the account creator
The Administrator role is designed for managers or team leads.
Permissions include:
Access and manage all workspace features similar to the Owner
Update subscription and billing settings
Manage users, channels, automations, and reports
Best suited for: Operations managers, team leads, or supervisors.
The Staff role is intended for support or operational team members.
Permissions include:
Use core features such as inbox, chats, automations, and CRM
View and respond to customer conversations
Limitations:
Cannot manage billing or subscriptions
Cannot modify admin-level or account-wide settings
Access can be further restricted using Granular Access controls
Granular Access ControlsWhen assigning a role, you can apply additional restrictions to further limit what a user can see or do.
No Application Access
Prevents the user from logging into DMLY while keeping their account active.
No Report Module Access
Hides analytics and reporting modules from the user.
Mask Contact Phone Numbers
Displays masked phone numbers in conversations and contact lists to protect customer data.
Workspace AssignmentEach team member must be assigned to at least one workspace to access and interact with DMLY.
Users can be assigned to one or multiple workspaces
Each workspace operates independently with its own data, channels, and settings
Users can only view and manage the workspaces they are assigned to
Keeps teams and departments isolated within their scope
Prevents access to unrelated conversations or data
Enables agencies and multi-brand businesses to manage clients securely
Workspace assignment ensures that every user operates only within their permitted environments.
Best PracticesAssign Owner access sparingly
Use Administrators for managers and operational leads
Assign Staff roles with granular restrictions for support agents
Always review workspace assignments to avoid unintended access
